Can High Cholesterol Affect My Job Offer? Seeking Advice on Pre-Employment Medical Concerns

coolgoose740
I received a job offer from an IT company. They required a pre-employment medical checkup to be completed. I have undergone all the necessary medical tests as per their requirements. Everything looks good except for my cholesterol levels, which are above the recommended limits. I have forwarded the results to them and am now awaiting their response.

I am concerned if this might make me ineligible for the job. Can they reject my employment based on such health issues that can be managed through diet and medication?

Dear,

Every employer has the right to select a good candidate to their own satisfaction. It is a natural consideration for the employer. It is entirely at the discretion of the employer to check the medical condition of the candidate and make an appropriate decision. However, high cholesterol is a treatable condition, so there is no need to worry.
