Dear Ms. Neelam,

Good Afternoon:)

Employees can apply for the withdrawal of PF immediately after leaving their job, and the PF Department takes 90 working days to process the PF claim.

An employee is not supposed to send the withdrawal forms immediately after relieving but has to wait for two months, as posted by cite.hr, to withdraw the PF amounts. This waiting period of two months is to ensure that the employee has not been employed in another firm where EPF is enforced. However, in the case of a woman employee who leaves the company after getting married, this waiting period of two months is not required, but she can withdraw the amount immediately after leaving. The same applies to an employee who leaves the company for settlement abroad.

As per the PF Act, you should wait for a period of 60 days. This waiting period is for securing another job. If you secure another job within the 60 days, you should transfer the PF accumulation to the new PF number. If you don't secure a job after 60 days, you should submit a certificate of Non-Employment in Form 19 to claim the PF.

Normally, it takes 2-3 months. In any case, the PF withdrawal form will be processed after the expiry of two months. From the date the form is forwarded, the amount from the PF department will be transferred into your account as mentioned in your withdrawal form within 45 days, typically.

Too much delay may lead to unnecessary formalities; for example, the PF department may ask for an affidavit on a Rs. 100 stamp paper if it is submitted after 5-6 years of your resignation/termination.

Send all your withdrawal forms either through Registered A.D. Post or obtain a receipt if submitted personally.

Dear Neelam,

Normally, an employee should apply for PF by filling out PF Form-10C & 19 (along with bank account details) after 2 months from the date of resignation. After submitting the same, it will take more than 1.5 months if the details are correct.

Also, please take care of the following points before submitting the form:

1. Please confirm that the PF forms are filled out properly, and the mentioned details are correct (Employer Code, PF Number, DOB, etc).
2. Provide Form-3A details if the employee resigned after February.
3. Verify if the mentioned bank account number is presently active or not, and ensure a photocopy of the passbook info sheet (front page) is attached.
4. Check the employee's and authorized signatures wherever required.

Please note that in such cases, a significant amount will be credited in 2 installments.

Cordially, Puttaraju

Hi, not more than 45 to 60 days. Send duly filled form through registered mail and keep a copy with you. Send a letter to the employer.

Dear all,

If your bank has ECS, then your P.F. amount will be directly credited to your bank account within a week of filing your Form 19 and 10C. Please enclose a xerox copy of your bank account, Form 5, 10, previous year and current year Form 3A with Form 19 and 10C. This is based on my experience.

One employee is ABC. He deducted the PF, and after 3 years, he had a withdrawal of PF. But some contribution is getting 58 years. My question is, how is getting my 8.33% and 3.67%, which was withdrawn, but at that time, employer signature is not mandatory.

Understanding PF Withdrawal After Leaving an Organization

Be frank, I did not get your query properly, but I am trying to answer it based on the presumption that you had worked for 3 years and only withdrew your share of PF. You are considering withdrawing the pension fund contribution when you reach 58 years of age.

First of all, if you had only 3 years of service, you could have taken the withdrawal benefit of the pension fund as well. If you had opted for a scheme certificate instead of cash for the withdrawal benefit, you should have received a certificate from the Ministry of Labour. Since you had only 3 years of service and are not continuing employment with any other establishment with PF and Pension contributions, the scheme certificate is of no use, and you can surrender it to take the withdrawal benefit at any time. On the other hand, if you are currently employed and contributing to PF, you can use the scheme certificate when you apply for a pension upon reaching the age of 58 years.

Secondly, when you apply for withdrawal benefits, whether the employer's signature is required or not will depend on whether you have linked your Aadhar with the UAN. Since you have withdrawn the PF, I don't think a Universal Account Number (UAN) has been generated for you. In the absence of this, attestation by the employer is mandatory for applying for the withdrawal benefit of the pension fund. If your establishment is closed, you can get the form attested by a gazetted officer or bank manager and submit it to the PF office.
