Understanding ESI Coverage: How Many Members Are Needed and What Is the Current Limit?

Sreedar srinivasan
Hi all,

Can anyone help with this issue? What is the limit for ESI and ESI coverage of Minimum Members - How many? For example, for PF, 20 members are the minimum quantity to fulfill the mandatory obligation. Similarly, for ESI, how many members need to be present to fulfill the ESI coverage, and what is the limit now? Is it Rs. 10K or 15K? Please explain and clarify.

Thanks,

ESI coverage is possible with two criteria:
1. 10 Employees with the aid of power.
2. 20 Employees without the aid of power.

Another important aspect is the wage ceiling, which is 10K itself.

Mr. Sreedar S.,

For ESIC coverage, 10 members need to be present to fulfill the ESI coverage, and the limit is Rs. 10,000/-.

Dear [Recipient],

If in your company 10 or more employees are working on any given day, including contractor manpower (e.g., security guards) with the aid of power, you will be covered. The maximum limit is 10k, not 15k; it is currently under review at the cabinet.

Thank you,

Payush
