New to HR in Manufacturing: What Are the Must-Know Statutory Compliances and Their Impact?

Dear All,

Please shed light on statutory compliances. I have recently joined a manufacturing concern (OEM) as Assistant Manager - Corporate HR. In this company, there is no systemized process and procedures. Please also suggest what could be the impact on companies that do not follow such compliances.

Could you also provide me with ideas about essential statutory compliances to be implemented here, as I have no prior knowledge about statutory compliances?

Good morning.

Attached herewith, find the list of Statutory Compliances to be carried out. The effect of non-compliance - never dream about it. It is very wrong and illegal. If you are an authorized person, you can end up in great trouble.

Also, start educating yourself on Statutory Compliance as it is very, very, very essential if you want to continue in this field. May I ask which company you are with and your experience in this field?

By the way, I am a Senior Executive HR in a private limited pharma company. So, I want to know the PF wage limit, both upper and lower limits. Also, can you please tell me the statutory compliances applicable for pharma companies?

You need to complete all compliances like PF/ESI/Professional Tax/Property Tax/Income Tax/Electricity/Factory License or Shops & Establishment License/Labour License, etc. All statutory requirements are a must. If your organization is not registered, you need to complete all basic licenses and keep track of the concerned reports like monthly payments/returns, half-yearly returns, and annual returns, etc. Otherwise, there will be a problem with Government Departments tomorrow.
