Navigating Minimum Wages: Which State's Rate Applies to Multi-State Offices?

Minimum wages are decided for states. If a company has offices in different states and a registered office in Delhi, which minimum wage will be applicable? Will it be that of Delhi or of the specific states where we have offices or where my employees are located?

As we are on this subject, please help me to know how to calculate and get the details for minimum wages for the following states: Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Chennai, and Indore.

Ours is a freight forwarding and logistics company with the head office in Mumbai.

Hi Ujjvala,

As far as I know, there is no standard way of calculating minimum wages for different states. Minimum wages are fixed by the respective State Governments of different states while keeping in view the guidelines of the Minimum Wages Act 1948. It would be better if you check the State Government's bulletin for wages for those different states you have mentioned. That might be of some help.
