It's on Monday; our company declared a holiday on Monday for us. However, I am not very sure. You can also take some other people's opinion on this.

The question reminded me of Gabbar Singh's dialogue from the movie Sholay, "Kab Hai Holi?" Holi bonfire is on Sunday night, and Monday is Rang Panchami.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Dear Shikha,

It is a festival of harvest called "Holika Dahan." Commercially, this year it falls on 1st March 2010.

Dear All,

Please tell me whether Holi is on Sunday or Monday? Please confirm the same to me ASAP as I have to declare a holiday in my office.

Dear Shikha,

Holi is being celebrated in North India, especially in the Braj region, in a great way. As per your need, Holi will be on 28.02.10, but the next day will be celebrated with colors. That way, a two-day holiday is being declared in the organizations in this region.

Thanks & regards,

Holi, the 2nd day, Dhulivandan, is on Monday, 1st March. Since in India, everyone celebrates Holi on Dhulivandan (Rango ki Holi) day, many companies observe a holiday on this day only.

Dear Shikha,

Holi Dahan (Choti Holi) is on Sunday, and Phagun (playing with colours) is on Monday, so you should declare a holiday on Monday as well.

Surabhi

Dear Sikha,

In my company and many companies, Monday, 01/03/2010, is declared a holiday on the eve of Holi. Therefore, you can also declare a holiday on Monday, 01/03/2010.

Holi is on 28th February 2010 (Sunday). However, you can declare a holiday on 1st March 2010 (Monday) as it is followed by many organizations. Furthermore, there is a Bank Holiday on 1st March 2010 (Monday).

Happy Holi to all of you, and have a nice day ahead.

Celebration of Holi is on Sunday, but our company has declared a holiday on Monday, 1st of March.

Fellow citehr members have advised about Holi, Dhulandi, etc., falling on 28th Feb and 1st March. In Maharashtra, traditionally, Color Holi (Rangapanchami) is celebrated on the 5th day from Holi, which falls on 5th March.

I suggest you declare holidays from 28th Feb to 5th March, continuing for 6 days. Employees will be very happy to celebrate Holi for a longer duration, and the HR Dept. will also earn a lot of praise from employees.

Bura na mano Holi hai !!!!!!

Actually, Holi is celebrated at night, and the next day is called "Dhulwad" in Maharashtra. Generally, a holiday is given the day after Holi. This year, Holi will be celebrated on Sunday, the 28th of February at night, and Monday has been declared a holiday.

Sunday, February 28th is Holika Dahan, and Monday, March 1st is a holiday for Holi. On Monday, people will play with colors. My opinion is the same as Vijay Kajarekar's.

Happy Holi to all!

Dear Madam Shikha Ji,

In reference to your quote "When is Holi," with respect, I want to tell you that the festival of Holi is celebrated in two steps. The first is "Holika Dahan," which will be celebrated on Sunday, and the second is "Rango ki Holi," which means full enjoyment of colors and gulals (Rangbaji), will be celebrated on Monday.

So, I request you to declare Holi on Monday in your office and enjoy this Holi among your family, friends, and relatives. I wish a happy and colorful Holi to you and your family.

"Happy Holi to You."

Best regards,
Ram Singh

Re: Fkyi

Hi Vijay,

Holi Vandana is on the 28th, i.e., Sunday. Dhuli Vandana (the day after Holi when people play with colors) is on 1st March. Therefore, you can declare a holiday on 1st March.

Regards,
Vijay
