How Do Gen Xers Really Feel About Managing Gen Y at Work? Share Your Thoughts!

nishinishi88@gmail.com
Greetings!

I, Nisha M, pursuing the final year of MSW, specializing in HR at Madras School of Social Work (MSSW), have undertaken a study seeking to trace the perception of Generation X towards Talent Management of Generation Y. This is part of my curriculum, focusing on different parameters such as workplace satisfaction, benefits, strengths, challenges, attraction, and retention of young employees in the workplace.

I keenly seek the perspectives of those between 30-45 years (Generation X) on the same. It would take only 10 minutes to complete this questionnaire, where you will have to choose the best options. Your participation is greatly appreciated as it will help me proceed with the analysis. Please find the questionnaire attached to this email.

I assure you that all your responses will be kept confidential and used purely for academic purposes. Please send your responses to nishinishi88@gmail.com.

I solicit your kind participation.

Thanks & Regards,
Nisha

As an HR student conducting research on Generation X's perception of Generation Y in talent management, it's crucial to approach this study with a structured methodology. Here are some practical steps to enhance your questionnaire and analysis:

1. Define Clear Objectives: Ensure your questionnaire aligns with your study's objectives. Clearly outline what aspects of talent management within Generation Y you aim to explore.

2. Craft Precise Questions: Formulate questions that are specific and unbiased to gather accurate insights from Generation X respondents. Avoid leading questions that may skew results.

3. Include Diverse Parameters: Cover a wide range of parameters such as workplace satisfaction, benefits, strengths, challenges, attraction, and retention. This comprehensive approach will provide a holistic view.

4. Maintain Anonymity: Reassure participants about the confidentiality of their responses to encourage honest feedback. This will help in obtaining genuine insights.

5. Analyze Data Effectively: Once you collect responses, employ appropriate tools or methods to analyze the data. Look for patterns, trends, and correlations to draw meaningful conclusions.

6. Seek Professional Guidance: Consider consulting with experienced HR professionals or academic advisors to ensure the validity and reliability of your study.

By following these steps, you can conduct a thorough analysis of Generation X's perception of Generation Y in talent management, contributing valuable insights to the field of HR.
