Exploring Distance Learning Courses in HR: What Options Can Enhance My Career?

Hi Everybody!

I am in Government service and in my final semester of MBA (HR). I want to pursue some other course in HR-related fields like PGD in labor law, relations, administrative law, etc., in distance mode. Can anyone advise me on what other courses I can pursue to market myself and the reputed Institutes/Universities that provide such courses in distance mode?

You may take a SAP HR course, a course in Emotional Intelligence, or a diploma course in Industrial HR policies, etc.

Dear Mr. Raja Ram,

You can pursue your Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Laws & Administrative Laws at Madurai Kamarajar University, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. This is a one-year course with very nominal fees. There are four papers in total.

There are few institutes in India conducting short-term specialized courses in HR (Compensation & Benefits, Talent Transformation/ T&D, Psychometric Evaluation/Competency Mapping, OD, etc.). Additionally, I found that the curriculum of Certification in Organization Development conducted by IIOD (iiod.in) is broad in terms of subject coverage.

The following courses/professional exams are in high demand internationally:
- PHR/SPHR/GPHR conducted by HRCI (HRCI - PHR-SPHR-GPHR Certification)
- Any CIPD qualifications (CIPD - The HR and development website)

You can go for M.L.M (Master of Labour Management) offered by Annamalai University, which covers both labor laws and Administrative Law. This will be an added advantage for you.
