Can We Switch Factory Registers to Digital? Seeking Advice on Legal Acceptance

Dear All,

We need to maintain many registers in the factory. For example, muster roll, wage, leave, accident register, whitewash, medical register, etc., under various labor laws. Writing manually is too boring and a non-value-added activity. Can we maintain the same in soft copy? Will it be acceptable to the concerned authority? Is any permission required for keeping soft copy instead of hard copy?

In my point of view, a hard copy is necessary. There are no specific rules to maintain a soft copy from the government's end. However, for our records, we can use a soft copy, but we cannot submit the same to the government.

You need to obtain an exemption order for maintaining a soft copy, but certain registers must be kept manually in hard copy as well.
