Hi Deepak,

The roles for a successful HR Executive that you defined are actually job responsibilities or JD. The last word, "Executive," clearly specifies that the person is at the execution end; therefore, he/she is required to execute things effectively. During execution, he/she learns.

A sense of purpose: a clarity of vision about what they are there to do and a willingness to go out to the edge to achieve it.

Business focus: defining themselves as business people first and holding themselves accountable for creating business success.

Function construction: a focus on crafting a fit-for-purpose HR function and leading it to deliver success for the business through the people agenda.

Self-knowledge: authenticity and integrity, awareness of their own values, self-belief, continuous learning, and an ability to manage their energy and motivation.

Well, I guess the role of an HR Executive is to be an intermediary platform between employees and management. The specific attributes that he/she should have include, but are not limited to, effective leadership, team building, effective communication skills, grievance handling, conflict resolution, etc. The Executive needs to be people-oriented and should have the ability to solve employee problems with the confidence of management.
