Need to Withdraw My PF: How Long Does It Take and What's the Process?

praveena.c
Hi all,

I want to withdraw my PF. I was working at Thomson Financial from 2nd July 2001 to 24th Oct 2006 and joined Mphasis, an EDS Co., on 30th Oct 2007. I wanted to transfer the PF, so I filled the form and submitted it in the new office. Until now, I have not received the new PF number.

Now, I want to withdraw my PF as I am in need. Please let me know the procedure for the same and how many days it will take to complete the process and get the money back.

Hi,

You need to fill out Form 10C and Form 19 of the Provident Fund, along with pasted revenue stamps in the advanced receipt section. You are also required to provide a photocopy of your bank statement for the direct credit of the PF money. After this, you need to send the above-mentioned forms to your former employer, where they will certify the forms and send them to the Regional Provident Fund office for withdrawal. Generally, it takes around 1-2 months for direct credit.

Other group members, please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for the response.

I have a small doubt. When I filled the form for the transfer of my PF, how can I approach the previous employer to ask for a signature, especially when that company is not involved anymore? I have just learned that we will receive new PF numbers from the new company.

While I am still employed, how can I withdraw from my current company? I need the money for housing purposes.

Please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Praveena,

This is Madhav, and I have seen your conversation. I would like to suggest that you please check that amount with the PF office to confirm if the particular amount has been transferred or not. If not, you can raise a request to stop the transfer and withdraw that amount. If it has been transferred, you will need to raise a request to withdraw the amount, and your present employer will have to approve it, or you can avail of a loan facility on PF as well.

Hi Madhav,

I enquired with the PF office, and they told me that you need to inquire in your new office, and we cannot tell you. When I enquired in my new organization, they informed me that the transfer is in process and will take time.

I want to know, can I withdraw the whole amount in the present organization after the transfer? If I want to avail a loan, how much can I get? Is it 100% or 75%, etc.?

Please let me know for what purposes I can avail loans. Actually, it is better for me to withdraw the whole amount to utilize it fully instead of in parts.

Hi Praveena,

I understood your problems. Right now, where do you stay? I have contacts in the PF office in Hyderabad, and I will check it out. Regarding your loan, they will consider your total experience and the total amount saved. If they approve the loan, it will be 60% - 75% of your total value, and it will take a minimum of one month.

Hi Madhav,

I have gone through the contents of your conversation and found that initially, you kept your present employer in the dark while filling out Form 11 at the time of joining. In Form 11, we are required to clearly state that the PF number of our past employer and its jurisdiction, and indicate the division where it falls. This information is necessary if you want to transfer the amount to your current establishment. The employer will then process your request for the transfer of funds with the Provident Fund Department. Once you have applied for the transfer, you cannot withdraw the PF amount. The transfer of funds usually takes 1-2 months. After completing a total of 7 years of service, you can avail of a loan facility such as a home loan.

To proceed with the transfer and apply for a loan, you can directly approach the PF Department with the acknowledged copy of the transfer form.

Hi Praveena,

When did you submit the Form 13 for transfer? If it is getting delayed, then ask the PRO of your PF office. I believe your PF office will be near Richmond Circle. Just inquire about the status. If it is not under process, then explain the situation to your previous employer and submit Form 10 & Form 19. Nowadays, claims are getting delayed, taking even more than 2 months. In Bangalore itself, there are 4 PF offices, and based on geographical locations, the office location changes.

Dear All,

Previously, I worked as an Agency Manager at Bharti AXA LIC in Kolkata, Kankurgachi branch. My Employee ID is 18897. I left the organization a while ago, but the company provided a due notice of Rs. 981/-.

So, how can I access my PF? Please solve this issue.
