Struggling to Retrieve PF After Leaving a Job Without Proper Relieving: What Can I Do?

I was working for an IT company (let's say company A) for 3 months and left without proper relieving procedures. The issue is that my PF from my previous company (let's call it Company B) has been transferred to the company I left without following the proper relieving process. Both companies have private PF trusts. I have attempted to contact Company A, but they have not responded, and they have not provided the PF form either. Is it possible for me to retrieve my PF amount? What steps should I take to obtain it? Can I use the general form available on this site to withdraw/transfer?

You can transfer your old PF account's money to the new PF account if you have joined a new company. You can speak with your HR/Accounts/Finance department of the new company to get the procedure done.

For your PF accumulations, you will have to collect Form 19 from your personnel department or the nearest EPFO.

You can also collect Form 13 for the transfer of your PF from the earlier organization to the new organization.

To avail of withdrawal benefits, you will have to fill in Form 10C and submit the same to your previous organization. There is a waiting period of 2 months after which the said Form 10C shall be forwarded to EPFO by your previous employer. EPFO, after receiving the said Form 10C, will credit the accumulated amount.

Also, note that since you were employed with your past employer for a period of fewer than 6 months, it is better that you get your PF amount transferred to your new company. Due to less than 6 months of PF contribution, you will not receive the employer contribution. You will only receive the amount deducted from your salary. You can earn interest at 8.5% in a few months, so why withdraw? Just fill out Form 13 and submit it to the current employer. Moreover, you have not completed the exit formalities, so why not transfer the PF to the current company?
