Are Trainees Entitled to Bonuses Under the Payment of Bonus Act? Seeking Clarification and Sources

Dear all,

Kindly let me know if trainees other than apprentices are eligible for a bonus under the Payment of Bonus Act. If so, kindly provide details, notifications, or any relevant sources that justify that trainees are entitled to a bonus.

All trainees other than apprentices engaged under the Apprentices Act and as per provisions of the Standing Orders of the company are eligible for a bonus since they have a status equal to employees under various labor laws.
