Why is the recognition of trade unions necessary?

---

The recognition of trade unions is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, trade unions play a vital role in protecting the rights and interests of workers. By representing workers in negotiations with employers, trade unions ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and job security.

Secondly, trade unions promote collective bargaining, which allows workers to have a stronger voice in the workplace. Through collective action, employees can address issues such as unfair treatment, discrimination, and lack of benefits.

Moreover, trade unions contribute to a more balanced power dynamic between employees and employers. By organizing workers and advocating for their rights, trade unions help create a more equitable and just working environment.

In conclusion, the recognition of trade unions is necessary to uphold worker rights, promote collective bargaining, and foster a fair and inclusive workplace for all.

As we know, any 7 employees can get together and form a Trade Union. Hence, there is every possibility of having more than one registered trade union in a company. However, management can't negotiate with every union. Therefore, out of these registered trade unions, the one with the maximum number of members (preferably more than 30%) is recognized by the management for negotiations, table talks, etc.

Rules for the recognition of trade unions differ in different states.
