Are Students at Risk? Supreme Court Halts Derecognition of 44 Universities in India

Buju
Some 44 universities are facing derecognition, according to news reports. However, the Supreme Court has halted the derecognition move, as reported on http://mizzima.com <link updated to site home>. Both pieces of information can be found at http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en...=f&oq=.

The derecognition, if it were to be affected, should only impact students who graduate after the derecognition and not those who have already graduated (HR experts, please correct me if I am wrong).

Have a nice day.

Having been exposed to such an unfortunate reality, I wonder what the corporate HR action should be on this matter with respect to the following:

1. Recruiting individuals from these universities in preference over other legitimate institutes/universities.
2. Amending the future recruitment policy.
3. Rectifying past appraisals involving employees from these institutes/universities.

Furthermore, it is interesting to note from press reports that the protagonists of these widely publicized institutes/universities should compensate for the individual losses suffered.

Hi Buju & All Other Friends,

These universities are recognized. It was a single plan to change the selection process of candidates and to build up pressure on universities to adhere to UGC rules.

The derecognition is not in force yet, and I think some of them are fighting the decision in the courts. Buju, instead of cutting and pasting the list, you should have just given a link to a press report. Have a nice day.

It was not the right thing to do from your side. Imagine the plight of the students who have enrolled for MBA programs through these universities. Students pay anywhere between 2 - 8 lakhs to get admission for an MBA. Has anyone ever wondered what will happen to those kids?
