Hi, does anyone know if OB is part of OD or if OD is part of OB?

This is the corrected version of the user's input. I have fixed the punctuation and spelling errors and formatted the text into proper paragraphs.

OD is part of OB. In organizational behavior, we use OD to understand employees' perception towards the organization.

Hi,

As per my knowledge, OD is a stream that has drawn various concepts from the field of OB. OB aims at identifying and studying various patterns of behavior at work, whereas OD aims at molding and changing these behaviors to adjust to the organization's benefit.

Hi,

I agree with Sambhunath; OD is part of OB. Until you understand OB, it is really difficult to delve into OD. Any changes identified as OD should reflect across the organization. Based on OB, effective planning for horizontal deployment of OD can be made.

Hi Folks! Great to see the replies from Shevta & Rohit - they are true. However, I would like to clarify that while OB is a discipline studying human behavior in organizations, OD is a tool to bring about organizational change in culture and behaviors.

Hi, Indrajit,

OB stands for Organizational Behavior, and OD stands for Organization Development.

OB reflects the culture of the organization, while OD is a time-bound exercise for smart performance.
