Confused About PF Transfer Deadlines? Need Guidance on My Situation!

Hi,

I was working with company A from 15-07-2005 to 18-07-2006. I joined company B on 19-07-2006. I did not submit the PF Transfer form with my previous employer and submitted the PF Transfer form to my current employer in Sep '2006. The information available with me at the moment is that my transfer request was submitted to RFPC on 4th Oct '2006. Today (13th Feb '2007) I sent a request to my previous employer for the transfer request. I had a word with one of my seniors, and he told me that one can get the PF transferred from the previous employer to the new one within six months only, and after six months, one cannot apply for transfer. May I request you to please guide me in this regard.

Many thanks in advance.

Dear Alok Bhat,

PF can be transferred at any time. The procedure for PF transfer is as follows:

Your present employer needs to fill out Form No. 13 (revised) mentioning all the information (as per Form 11) regarding the PF of your previous employer (with a copy to you) and submit it to its Regional/sub-regional PF office.

The PF office will then send the form to the previous employer for verification. After verification (along with Form 3A, if applicable), the previous employer will send the Form-13 to the PF office for transfer.

Hi Naresh,

Thank you very much for the reply. I just had a word with the HR of my previous employer. He has not initiated the transfer request as of now. I have asked him for the withdrawal of the amount.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Naresh,

If I have a new PF account opened through the new employer, what happens to the interest on the balance in my previous EPF account? As there would be no additional monthly contribution in that account?

If I transfer my previous PF account, how is the member's balance and employer balance reflected in the new PF account? How is the interest for the month calculated in which the account transfer takes place?

Also, if possible, provide working for Pension account.

Regards,
Manish
