Recruitment is a very tough job to manage in any organisation especially in the new economy segment where there is a lot of attrition and new recruitments. The organisations interest in your delivering on their manpower requirement according to their organisational ethos and mandate has to be fast. Most of the organisation want top rankers with low job hopping and excellent credentials at a salary which may or maybe not be bright especially when big organisation asks you to sell the company's brand value to the candidate shifting lateral in the hierarchy of the organisation. You would have to unlearn whatever you have learned in your entire career and relearn yourself. It would be exciting.

Hi Hany Yousif
Welcome on-board. I have worked in the various Engineering fields for more than 10 years and presently in HR (after my MBA).
I personally think that it is a wise decision / move, especially working with a Telco Service industry. It is because many HR personnels do not understand fully how the personnels actually faced - eg. needs, requirement and problems faced. So, people with Engineering's experience who join HR would be a great asset to the organisation which is of technical in nature of business.

Dennis

Dear Hany,
As you said you have 10 years of experience in Engineering, can you specify which field of engineering. And what was your purpose of doing MBA specifically in HR after working in engineering field for so long period.

Hi,
As per my experience, it is not a wise decision to change
the field at this juncture. B'coz you need to start everything
from scratch, besides losing the experience in your field which
was gained with lot of efforts. This is my feeling.
