ESI PF For Construction Company

We are a pharmaceutical company going in for an expansion i.e. new facility. We have hired a contractor for construction. We asked him to submit the challan's for ESI and PF. He claimed that construction company is exempted from ESI and PF. Can some one elaborate on the same.

Workmen of construction companies engaged at construction sites are exempted by ESI and the notification is available in this site itself. But there seems to be no such notification about EPF.

SORRY, the exemption from coverage of ESI given to site workers stands withdrawn.
