shweta.grover
Dear All,

I need some suggestions on game activities that can be arranged internally for employees in the office area to add more fun to the place. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Shweta,

Please go through the attached Excel sheet. It will help you in organizing fun games at your office. I arranged these games during the December 25th, 2009 party at our office, and employees really liked them.

Most of the organizations arrange Business Games. The intention is to nurture team culture, foster creativity and leadership, and explore the business environment. The teams are formed by personnel from different disciplines, and the following activities are generally carried out:

i) A case study on problems faced by the company is given to the team. The teams are provided with different resources such as money, staff, machinery (Hypothetical), etc., to solve the problem in an effective way.

ii) Money is given to the teams as an investment opportunity, and teams are assigned to carrying out investments in different sectors to ensure good returns.

We have a Nintendo Wii bowling league. Everyone bowls twice per week during lunch. Two teams bowl two strings; it takes about 40 minutes. Prizes are awarded weekly for the high string, high total, and consecutive strikes. All participants end up playing every team. It's so much fun!

I have corrected the spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in the text. The corrected version is structured with proper paragraph formatting.

Hello Taniya/Diana/Sriram/BSR,

Please refer to the attached Word document to understand the way of playing the games as mentioned in my earlier Excel file. Let me know if you need any clarification.

Hey all - thank you for your inputs, but I am not able to understand Gaurav's Excel games. Can you please explain how we have to play that?
gaurav17484
Shweta,

I believe it's really difficult to write how to play a game in words. Still, which game did you not understand? If you can tell me, I'll try my level best to provide more clarity on that.

Shweta,

There is one game which I did play with my team in the last 2 organizations, and it helped them gel a bit. The game is called "Then & Now" and it is played as follows:

Sit with the team in a room forming a circle of chairs. Ask 1 member of the team to come and sit in the middle of the circle. Rest all can give their opinion about the person sitting in the center. They can first tell how they felt about the person then (when they first met him/her) and how they feel now about him/her. Do a complete round including the managers as this serves as a feedback process as well.

It's short and simple but I found it effective!!!

Thanks,
Sumit

Hi!

You can check businessballs.com. The games on this site will not only provide you with fun but also help you understand your employees' attitudes, thinking processes, and so on.

Hi,

Please find attached a list of games that could be played in the office. I would suggest the following one as it's really fun:

- Individual game: Thread the corn (the one who threads the longest chain of popcorns wins)
- Spot topper (e.g., a person with the most romantic photo with their life partner on the spot/person with the maximum cash at the moment)

Feel free to try any of them.

Hey Gaurav,

First of all, thank you so much for the ideas for these interesting games.

I have a query - could you explain your first game in a more detailed manner? I really did not understand how to play this game.

Best Regards,

Hi Shweta,

You can arrange "ADD MAD SHOW" also. Due to some unpredictable product, you can play the same. It helps to improve your creativity, skill, motivation power, etc.

Dear Shweta,

I have a few games in mind like:
1. Lemon race
2. Paper dance
3. Musical chairs
4. Tug of war
5. Arm wrestling
6. Dare to stare
7. Wrap the Mummy
8. Dress from Newspaper

I have arranged these games in my organization, and believe me, everyone enjoyed a lot.

Rashmi

Swati,

I'll try my level best to convey the right way of playing this game.

In this game, individuals need to take one side of the thread in their mouth and tie one Polo on the other side. Now ask them to pull the thread in their mouth so that they can eat the Polo without touching their hand (it's something like the way we sip noodles). The one who finishes first will be the winner.

Hope this is clear to you.

Gaurav
