ESI Registration Process: What Steps and Documents Do I Need to Get Started?

Please help me out. I need to know what the procedure is for the registration of ESI and what documents are required.

Hi Murali,

First, you will write a letter to the ESI director regarding this sub-code. Along with this letter, you must submit:
1. Bank Statement of your Company,
2. If you have any main branch, then that company code (C11) should also be submitted to them or the contract agreement if any,
3. PAN card number,
4. Employee details,
5. Payslips,
6. Main branch last month's challan,
7. Address proof,
8. Concern person's address and contact number who are authorized for that establishment,
9. Letterheads.

I hope these are enough. I received the code by using these documents. Within 7 to 8 days, you will get the code (sub-code). I don't know how many days it will take for the main code.

Procedure for Getting Subcode for ESI apart from Employer & Employee details. The below-mentioned things should follow:

1. A minimum of 21 employees should work in that branch to get the ESI subcode.
2. The employer (4.75%) & employee (1.75%) of the gross salary for six months should be paid as a deposit in the ESI office.

I want to inform you that for the establishment of ESIC, employee registration forms should be submitted before the 10th of any month. This means that as new employees are coming in, you need to register them before the 10th of each month.

Additionally, when submitting the ESIC form for an employee, you should include:
a. 2 photos with their family
b. Properly filled FORM for ESI

It is crucial to note that it is very important to fill in the ESI hospital near their home if you are using their home address.

After registering the employee and submitting the ESI contribution, you will receive a challan from the bank. Please ensure you verify the challan.
