Should I Accept a Promotion and Relocate to Ludhiana or Stay in Delhi? Seeking Advice

rahat_sharma
Hi All,

I am currently associated with an organization as an HR coordinator. The company wants to promote me and relocate me to Ludhiana (I am currently in Delhi). Should I go for it or search for a job in Delhi?

I completed my MBA in 2006 and have been associated with this organization for the last 7 months. Also, I am not on the rolls of the organization, and if I relocate, I will get an on-roll job. Please guide me on what to do.

Thank you.

Hi,

If the offer is good, then go ahead; otherwise, search for jobs in Delhi because once you quit Delhi or a metro city, it is very difficult to relocate to metros again. I think there is no scope for your career in Ludhiana. The choice is yours.

Ludhiana is a good "Business Center" with almost all the banks and financial service companies. Additionally, the textile and garments industry is very active in Ludhiana. So, if the package is good...take the offer and movie. Ludhiana is also known as the "Mercedes Capital" of India, where the people have the maximum number of Mercedes. :D

Hi and good morning (Sorry, I don't know your name as you haven't mentioned it in your write-up)!

Let me advise you not to even think of going to Ludhiana for the following reasons:
1. Delhi is where things are happening, and it makes a clear and loud impact when the same is reflected in your CV - the place where you worked.
2. The opportunities you get here are far superior to Ludhiana - in terms of enhancing your skills, such as workshops and seminars.
3. More importantly, at least think big - remain in a big city.

If in any doubt, please give me a ring - Wing Commander Sandeep Sharma - 9818218317.

Regards and all the very best,
Sandeep
