Soft Skills Training: What Essential Topics Should a New Organization Focus On?

bell
Hi,

My organization has just started three years ago. We are keen on getting some soft skills training done. Can someone provide a list of possible soft skills training?

Hi,

I am a freelance soft skills trainer based in Bombay. I have attached my profile for your perusal if you and your company are looking to engage an outside vendor.

To answer your question about soft skills, there is a vast list that needs to be based on a TNA (training needs analysis) to establish the objectives. In brief, here are some of the soft skills that you can consider:
- Listening skills
- Negotiation skills
- Conflict management
- Stress management
- Time management
- Leadership skills
- Team bonding/building
- Task management
- Customer/Client servicing
- Mentoring & Coaching skills
- Etiquette training
- Presentation skills
- Motivation skills

The list is extensive, but I am sure you grasp the basic idea. Feel free to contact me at srivastava.richas@gmail.com for any queries.

Hi,

You can try the following:
1. Communication Skills.
2. Team Building & Teamwork.
3. Time Management.
4. Presentation Skills.
5. Leadership Skills.
6. Customer Handling.
7. Negotiating Skills.
8. Effective Listening.
And many more.

You can write an email to various department heads in your organization, asking them to list out the top 5 areas in soft skills where they want their employees to be trained. Consolidate that information and arrange training in order of priority so that the areas requested by the maximum departments can be addressed first.

Hi,

A person's soft skills are an important part of their individual contribution to the success of an organization. Topics include communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, being team-oriented, attitude building, behavior, decision-making, problem-solving, reaction versus response to a situation, people management skills, and social skills. I train students on these topics. Hope this would be helpful to you.

Hi all,
I suggest that all of you start to measures the end users adoption rate after "go live" of your training programs. Even if you have the best approach for training the success of it will depend on the end users adoption of the new way of working, to decide if it was successful or not... To measure actual tool use is NOT sufficient as it only say's if a change has happened or not - it does not say whether it is good or not.
I can help you measure end users adoption. This measurement mechanism has been used for a decade and serve as an enabler to find out the reasons for actual status i.e. the indisputable evidence for the need of more training and change management services.
