Is My Distance Education MBA Holding Me Back from Teaching in an Engineering College?

I finished the MBA program at IGNOU with a first-class (71.5%) in the first attempt. Currently, I am working as a lecturer in commerce (UG) at an arts and science college. I aspire to teach in the MBA program at an engineering college. I am aware that the IGNOU program is AICTE approved. However, many college principals are resistant to considering distance education. Despite passing the UGC NET (Management) and SLET in Management, I have not been able to join the MBA department. I would like to know if an MBA obtained through distance education is recognized or not.

It's a shame that a recognized MBA cannot be rejected. Where do you hail from? It's true that they prefer, but do not reject, the correspondence course MBA because IGNOU MBA is more recognized than some of the regular MBAs, and that is very much true. I can say confidently.

Do you have corporate experience so that you can get good offers in business schools? They will consider you if you prove your mettle in the panel interview and demo.

Hi, I am facing the same problem. I have completed an Executive MBA program from IIM INDORE (Business Administration) and from Narsi Monjee Inst. Mumbai (in Finance Management). I was working in a BPO as an Operations Manager. I wish to move into the finance field, but companies don't consider me for the position of Finance Manager because they don't value the Executive MBA as much as a regular MBA. The most they offer me is an entry-level position due to my experience in operations, which I do not want to settle for. Even when I applied for AGM or DGM level positions in operations, they did not consider me because of my Executive MBA, whereas they hired someone from IIM Indore as a VP in the same organization. I understand that he completed a regular course, which is significant, but he had no experience, unlike me with over 6 years of experience. I also worked hard to pass a PAT test for IIM and NMIMS. Am I not even eligible for a DGM level position, which is four levels lower than VP? I don't understand why these prestigious institutions claim to provide the best education when companies do not recognize it. What is the point of working so hard and achieving excellence in one of the best institutions if we cannot leverage it in our careers?
