Need Creative Ideas for Organizing a Successful Inter-College Business Quiz

Hi everybody,

We are planning to conduct a business quiz in our college, and I have been given the responsibility to organize it. We are also inviting students from other colleges to participate in the quiz.

Please help me by giving ideas to make this program successful. I do not have a clear idea about the number of rounds to be conducted and how to differentiate between the rounds, etc. Please give me some ideas ASAP.

Why am I not able to get suggestions for conducting the quiz program? Please contribute some ideas.

OK, conduct a quiz in 5 to 6 levels.

First Step: Written Aptitude/Quiz
In this step, include all generalized questionnaires and then the current affairs. But see to it that it follows the 20-30-50 principle. That is, 20% should be tough, 30% should be average, and 50% should be easily identifiable. Although this is not a hard and fast rule, it's just a basic guideline.

Once the shortlisted candidates from the written test, make groups of 5 or 4 members in a group. Then the actual business quiz starts.

Second Step
LEVEL 1: Multiple-choice questions with no passing of questions and no negative marking. You can include questions about Economics, Markets, etc.
LEVEL 2: Logo identification - Include logos that are not easily identifiable. Passing is there, no multiple choice, and negative marking is applicable.
LEVEL 3: Tagline identification - Use challenging taglines from Google for teams to answer. Passing is there, no multiple choice, and negative marking is applicable. Scores can be +10 and -5 for negative.
LEVEL 4: Guess the quotes from corporate figures like Mr. NRN, Azim Premji, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, etc. Negative marking may or may not apply.
LEVEL 5: Rapid Fire Round - 90 seconds, 5 questions per team.

Example:
1. Who is the present chairman of TATA Motors?
2. Who wrote the book "White Tiger"?
3. Expand BMW.
4. What message is conveyed in the TV ad of "IDBI Bank"?
5. Which was the recent car launched by TOYOTA?

This is just a basic format I have provided. Each one of them may have their own preferences.
