Navigating Paid Holidays: What Are the Rules and How Can I Get the 2010 List?

I am Sandhya Khare, working in a pharmaceutical company as an HR Manager. I would like to inquire about the rules concerning paid holidays during the year and also request a list of holidays for the year 2010.

There are no specific rules stipulated for paid holidays; however, three national holidays like Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanthi are mandatory. Apart from that, any three to five holidays can be chosen. It depends on the type of organization. For example, if you are working in the transport sector or the hotel industry, it depends upon the volume of business. In case a worker who works on these days can be considered for overtime or compensatory holiday for office staff.
