How Do I Set Up an Effective HR Hierarchy for a Small RO Water Plant Company?

MonaNair
Dear Sir/Madam,

I have had the opportunity to join my uncle's business. My past experience is in HR, where I worked with a recruitment consultancy, and for the last year, I have been working as an HR Executive with a pharmaceutical company.

Now, my uncle wants me to join his company and set up the entire HR department. They operate a RO water plant manufacturing company, which is a small-scale industry with a workforce of 140 individuals, including two factories and the head office. Although they have all the necessary departments in place, they lack a professional approach.

I am unsure of how to start and streamline all the work. My first plan is to establish departments and implement a reporting system based on a hierarchical structure. Could you advise on the appropriate hierarchy for a RO water plant manufacturing company?

Please suggest how I should proceed or provide any other recommendations at your earliest convenience. I have already begun working at the company, and I am uncertain about where to begin.

I urgently require your assistance. Thank you for your help.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Mona,

Firstly, congratulations on the new opportunity.

You need to identify various departments of the organization like HR, Finance, Admin, Production, Marketing, etc. Then, assess the existing levels of the organization and create a chart outlining the hierarchy, including job descriptions, position levels, development paths, etc. Afterward, present this information to the management team.

All the best.
