Understanding Leave Policies: How Do ISO Standards Compare to Indian Regulations?

manu_manifest
Hi,

I wanted to understand how different the Leave policy is compared to ISO standards and the Indian Leave policy.

In the previous article, 240 days calculation was shown. How is this calculation done, and when it is a leap year, what is the calculation?

Which list do we have to refer to for Holidays (Festive and Non-festive) - Govt, State Govt, Central Govt?

What is the TQM Leave policy?

Thanks and Regards, Manu

Dear Manu,

There are no ISO standards on leave. ISO only states that you have to follow the law of the land, which indirectly means that if your leave policy violates any law, ISO personnel can question it; otherwise, not. Similarly, there is no specific Indian or TQM Leave Policy. The principle of 240 days originates from the Factories Act. Please go through it to understand how the calculation is done.

Regarding holidays, every State Government issues a notification specifying the minimum number of holidays that must be declared as holidays in that particular state by the factories. You are required to adhere to that notification.
