Dear Team,

Greetings for the day.

On the eve of the new year, our office team is going for an outing for 2 days. Could you please suggest some events or games to make the team comfortable and enjoy the trip?

Hope to receive an earliest response.

Thank you,
Smoronika

Hey all,

I am an HR professional at a company located in Mumbai, and this is the first time I would be organizing a one-day picnic for my colleagues. We want it to be adventurous; hence, we are cutting down on the option of water parks. There is no problem with transport, so we are open to going out of Mumbai too. We aim to spend more time together at the destination and less on traveling. Could you please suggest some places and events for the same?

Our team is small, and the ratio of girls is very low. I received a tremendous response when we celebrated Diwali at work. Being the only person in HR, I want this event to be memorable as well. It is the first time all of us will be going out together as a team.

I would appreciate your valuable advice.

Regards,
Ashlesha

Dear Shilpa,

You can try some team engagement activities like celebrating birthdays for team members, taking the team out for dinner, lunch, movie, or amusement park (maybe on a contribution basis). You can also have monthly communication meetings with a small get-together.

Manish

Simple Game:
Purpose: To bring everyone together.
Nature: Team game
Materials required: Peanuts and straw. Bowls - one big bowl and then two or three more bowls depending on the number of teams.

How to play the game:
Have three players from every team come to a table where you keep a big bowl of peanuts. Give the players a straw each and tell them that they are to get the peanuts with the straw from the big bowl and put them in another bowl provided. No touching the peanuts with their hands. Only three minutes are given.
The team that collects the maximum peanuts is the winner. By the way, one bowl and three people from each team (get only two teams at a time per table).
Have fun! This game won me a prize during my Strategic meets.
