Customer Is King, Do We Really Practice It?

Hello Everyone:
we get to hear a lot about customer service, customer satisfaction etc.. Many a times I have come across situations where as customers we are not treated properly. In many places I have seen this approach that until money is taken we are treated properly, but then customers are ignored. Do you all go through the same?

Hi Celina,
Customer is no longer the king, customer is the God now.. is it practiced? is all together a different issue,
However i feel that with relevance to HRM internal customers i.e the employees are now a days been already treated by many concerns like God!
and some concerns are realising the importance of the internal customers right now... which is again throwing a lot of light on the HR of a concern, thanks to the existing attrition rates cos thats wot has made the line managers realise that not all people can be HRs only those who have the call for understanding the next person without that person having said anything can be succesful HRs who have the capacity to identify what kind of reward can motivate each internal customer there by making them stick to their seats...
cheers,
Madhurya.

Hello,
Well, Customer is the KING in some businesses I guess. Special treatment and importance is not given to the customer unless some high value (high worth) product is bought. I dont think customer will be king in case of buying a soap. Since its an FMCG product, company wont give much preference to the identity of the customer.
But incase of more expensive goods like maybe a car, customer surely is treated as a KING. So, my opinion is that customer is the king in some cases where the product or service is of high worth in terms of money.
I could be wrong too, please correct me if I am wrong though :)
