Navigating ESIC Codes: Do We Need Separate Codes for Branch Offices and Factories?

Sunil DS
Dear All,

I am working for a company in which the regional office is located in Bangalore, and other marketing staff (field) are working in different states. There are also some factories in certain states, and all these factories are covered under ESIC. I want to know:

1. Do we have to take a new code for the company in the states where the factories are situated?
2. Do we need to take a separate code for the employer in other states where there are no factories?

Please guide...

Regards,
Sunil.

Morning Sunil!

Yes, certainly, you have to obtain a different code from the regional office of the Zone where your branch is located. The answer to your second question is - not required.

Dear Sunil,

Greetings!

With the existing code (Form C11) of the Regional office, you can apply for a Sub Code for your branch office where the employee strength must be more than 15. If the employee strength is less than 15, you can obtain an ESI card from the Regional office (Bangalore) and instruct the employees to avail the benefits from Bangalore itself. However, in this scenario, there is a disadvantage as if there are 10 employees working in Hyderabad, they would have to travel to Bangalore to access the ESI benefits.

If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.

Dear Mr. Sunil,

We cannot apply for below 15 employees. Is there any act implemented where he can apply in Bangalore and issue Form 105 (transfer form), so the IP can avail benefits in the workstation.
