Dear Ruchi,

The formula for Attrition is:
(Number of employees resigned / Average manpower) * 100.
Average Manpower = (Opening Manpower + Closing manpower) / 2.
*Opening/Closing manpower could be either the calendar year beginning or financial year beginning, whichever you follow.

Hi,

The formula for attrition is as follows:

((number of attritions x 100) / (Actual Employees + New Joined)) / 100.

Dear Ruchi,

Please refer to the attachments. It might be of some use to you!

I am so sorry, but there is some problem today at my end - I am unable to upload or attach any file. Sorry, guys :(

On second thoughts, why don't you guys search the words attrition, retention, or similar words here on this site itself? You will find hoards of information. Still, in case you would like to get more details, contact me with your email IDs.

Regards, Bharathi.

Dear,

Attrition can be calculated using the formula:
Attrition = (employees left * 100) / (opening balance in a month + number of employees joined in a month + number of employees left + number of employees at the end of the month)

For example: If there were 100 employees at the start of the month, 10 new employees joined during the month, 25 employees left, and finally, you are left with 85 employees at the end of the month.
Using the formula:
Attrition = (25 * 100) / (100 + 10 + 25 + 85)
The percentage answer is 11.36%.

Dear All,

I am a bit confused about which formula to follow. Can someone help me clarify which one would be the proper one to use?

Attrition = employees left * 100 / (opening balance in a month + no of employees joined in a month + no of employees left + no of employees at the end of the month)
No of employees resigned / Average manpower) * 100
((no. Of attritions x 100) / (Actual Employees + New Joined)) / 100

I am still confused with the formulas given for the calculation of attrition. Can somebody send me the formulas for the calculation of retention and attrition.

Thank you.

Dear Apnesh,

Could you kindly explain where the confusion lies? Do you have any figures for the number of people who have left the section/department/organization and the numbers at the beginning and end of the period under consideration?

Have a nice day.
