That will be an issue under labor laws. You should hire only people 18 years or above.

We have faced an issue regarding this - where some miscreants in the organization had previously hired girls (in a scheme system) who were less than 18 years old. The worst-case scenario was when the scheme was completed (a 3-year scheme), and the girls were only 18 years old. This situation caused significant problems for us.

Please refrain from hiring individuals within that age range.

Please find the details you need, as per my knowledge. If the age is 15 years, they are young workers. If the age is 18 and above, they are adolescents. Therefore, we typically appoint a worker after the age of 18. However, it is also possible to appoint a 15-year-old worker by checking their fitness certificate duly provided by a surgeon. We must maintain the following documents:

1. Full details of the person
2. Occupation
3. Hours of work
4. Should not exceed more than 4 1/2 hours in a day
5. Token system should be given and maintained, etc.

Only under a case where a work would not require any strenuous work/long hours or if it is far from a hazardous location can you employ a 15-year-old and above boy as a helper.

Hi, You can appoint people aged 18 years and above. There is no legal procedure required for such appointments.

Employment of Adolescents

However, adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 years cannot be employed in any hazardous occupation. Under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2012, the parents of the underage child employed can be penalized as well. According to child labour law, children aged less than 18 years are not permitted to work in any factory.

Please refer to Section 2 of The Factories Act, 1948 for further details.

By the way, you have posted a question and have set an age criterion for the members to answer ("Age after 58 please advise"). Thank goodness you have not asked for the age proof certificate from the respondents!
