Struggling with English Communication and Interview Anxiety? Seeking Advice and Solutions

ramesh2009p
Hi friends,

I am Ramesh. Basically, I am from a village. I studied in an English medium school, but due to the rural environment, I did not focus much on communication in English. Nowadays, interviewers are looking for strong communication skills. How can I improve? Are there any audio listening websites or other solutions for my improvement? Please help me.

Another question I want to ask everyone is, is interview fear common for everyone, and how can we control it? Whenever I have an interview scheduled, I struggle to get good sleep the night before due to anxiety and fear. In the morning, I am tense about the interview. Although I have knowledge in the subject matter, I become very nervous when the interviewer calls, leading to a poor performance in the interview and not being selected.

I would appreciate some advice from my seniors on how to control this anxiety. Please reply to help me overcome this challenge.

Regarding fear of interviews, there is no better way to overcome the fear than being prepared. Prepare yourself for interviews, regardless of whether you have an interview scheduled or not. Keep preparing every day for that interview that you "may" get. When you do get that interview, farewell to the best of your ability. If you don't get through the interview, don't get disheartened. Learn from the interview, try to analyze and understand where and what you could have done wrong, and prepare more to correct those mistakes. The hope is that you will perform better in the next interview. This way, every interview you attend and don't get through must be a learning experience for you in preparation for the next interview. Eventually, you will be confident about your knowledge, will overcome the fear, and convert an interview into a job offer.

All the best,

-Som G
