Retired from Canara Bank After 18 Years: Am I Eligible for the New Pension Scheme?

I understand that the retired bank employees are going to get an opportunity to opt for a pension scheme. I wish to know the eligibility rules for the pension scheme. I resigned from Canara Bank after serving for 18 years. Am I eligible for the pension scheme? I will be thankful for some guidance on the above.

A friend of mine was removed from a nationalized bank, but this removal did not disqualify him for future employment. Please let us know whether he is eligible for a pension, and if so, whether he is entitled to a full pension or a reduced amount. He had a service career of 31 years and 2 months.
