Xavier Labour Relations Institute, widely known as XLRI was born out of the vision of a Jesuit Priest, Father Quinn Enright. It was founded in 1949 in the Steel city of Jamshedpur, Bihar now in Jharkhand. In an endeavor to replicate a traditional "Live and Interactive" classroom environment, XLRI Jamshedpur introduced satellite based management programmes in association with Hughes Communications India Limited (HCIL). XLRI offers Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (PGCHRM) programme in India using the network and services set up by HCIL under the brand name: HughesNet.
>>Introduction
In order to satisfy the thirst for knowledge of executives, XLRI has evolved a 14 months consolidated program in ‘Human Resource Management’. The program aims to provide an opportunity to study and earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (PGCHRM) while working without interrupting their career. The program is being offered by XLRI in collaboration with HCIL to working and experienced professionals spread across 36 cities of India.

To equip participants with the required depth and balance of technical and managerial knowledge that will enable them to function successfully in their chosen field.

>> Methodology of delivery on HughesNet Platform
The on-line sessions (comprising of 330 hrs spread across 14 months) will be delivered on HughesNet interactive learning platform. The heart of the platform is a powerful user interface that enables large number of geographically distributed students to have a highly interactive "one to one" exchange with a central faculty.
The system incorporates live broadcast two way video, audio and data interactivity to enable the students to watch and interact with the faculty live on their PC's. Conceptual discussions, case discussions and panel discussions will be the primary vehicle of learning on the platform.

>> Campus Visit
The participants are expected to stay in the campus for 7 days of intensive campus learning. The exact date and schedule will be announced to the participants in advance so that they can arrange for their leaves from their respective organizations. During the period of their stay on campus participants need to participate in intensive classroom and group learning sessions.

Graduation from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in HR (Human Resource) / IR (Industrial Relations) field after completing graduation.
