Seeking Creative Ideas for Welcome Gifts at Our Excellence Awards Event

Hi all,

In our company, we are having an excellence awards function. We want to give away some gifts when we receive the guests (employees). What can be an innovative idea for the welcome gifts? It can be anything... The theme of the awards is "Excellence."

Please suggest something!

Hereby suggesting a few gift items:

1) Silk neckties for corporate promotions, corporate logo ties, or promotional caps are commonly used as mementos, as well as coffee mugs with logos.

2) Business planners/organizers

3) Tabletops

4) Candle holders, business card holders, paperweights, diffusers, and delicious chocolates

5) Nautical items such as binoculars, porthole clocks, sand timers, magnifying glass, wooden ship steering wheel, nautical sextant

6) Leather articles - bags, purses, folders

7) Headbands, bandanas, sippers, mousepads

8) Funny mini duck - has a pleasant scent and can prevent erosion

9) Brassware and brass handicrafts

OOPS!! I have to rush for a meeting...

You can present them with either the idol of Lord Ganesha or a shield with company names carved on it.

Thanks to Sushma & Sethi for the ideas. If you really want to be innovative, first find out discreetly what those who are going to be awarded are fond of—their preferences and dislikes may provide some food for thought! 😄

Guys, I feel that these are old ideas to consider. Most of these ideas would not hold importance to the employee as it is just a gift and not an "Excellence" recognition. The purpose is for the employee to feel motivated and be able to share his/her feelings with some of their peers.

Two ideas that I could think of are:

1. Arrange for a dinner at a very good family restaurant.
2. Give them a watch engraved with "Excellence of the Year."

Thanks for all the innovative ideas. We want to give away these gifts to everybody who is invited to this function (approximately 600 pax)! I guess the 'Excellence for the Year 2006' written wristwatch idea is a good one. :) Does anybody have some other ideas to share?

We gave our people a small sapling. The ones that were left behind were taken home by the organizing team members, and now those saplings are flowering all over my colleagues' houses. You could also ask them to plant it on your campus or something if they are your employees; then you would have an everlasting memory of the event. Even if you do not want to plant it on your campus, it says a lot about what you stand for. Along with it, for memory's sake, you could give a standard keychain or pen with that excellence thing engraved on it.

You can add this year's 2007 Desktop calendar or wall calendar with some memorable photographs of your company along with wristwatches.
