How Can an SAP HR Course and MBA Help Me Transition to a Generalist HR Role?

Hi, I am Vipul and doing my MBA in HR (final semester) from distance learning Symbiosis. Actually, I am working as a Sourcing Consultant with a placement firm for the last 1 year, and my past experience is from the BPO industry. I have chosen the HR domain for my career. I am planning to do an SAP HR course. Now I want to know, after doing this course, what should be my next step. My interest is to get into an HR Generic Role. Will this course and my MBA distance learning make a difference or not? What is your suggestion in this regard according to the industry?

Hi Vipul,

I am also pursuing MBA (HR) from Symbiosis, and somebody told me that you do SAP HR with your MBA. I am basically from Delhi, but I got transferred here to Lucknow. I am also interested in SAP HR. Please let me know if you have any information on this.

Moreover, with an MBA(HR) and SAP(HR) along with your experience, it is more than enough for a better career and breakthrough. After completing SAP(HR), I believe you should focus solely on your job and enhance your knowledge deeply. If in the future you feel the need to further your qualifications, I suggest you consider a Diploma in Training & Development from IITD, New Delhi. Some of our colleagues are pursuing the same path.

If you have any additional information, please do let me know.

Regards,
Manish

Hi Manish,

I am also in the same field as Vipul and currently working in Delhi. I have completed my MBA (HR). Now, I am planning to do some SAP HR (Functional). Some institutes like Webcom (fees: 22,000) and Allien Soft Tech (fees: 40,000) are providing SAP HR training and giving job assurance. I don't know how worthwhile it is to do the course from these institutes. As you mentioned that some of your friends are already in this field, can you guide me and provide me with the right suggestion?

Thanks,
Sapna
