- Maintaining personal files of employees.
- Attending to employees' queries and solving problems related to HR
- Identifying the training needs of the departments.

But now I am supposed to handle salary administration as well, but I don't know anything about it. Please help me??

Please help me with the procedure for the above task. The percentages we use for calculations - please help me out.

Deepika, first, go through your organization's policy on salary. Understand the percentages of each component in the CTC, which will give you a basic idea.

Hey,

Can anyone tell me which is the best institute in Pune for Payroll Training? I am an HR, but I don't handle payroll. I want to specialize in this domain; hence, I would request all of you to let me know where I can get training on Payroll.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi Deepika,

It's not a big deal. Here are a few things to do:

1. First, go through the HR policy.
2. Read the grading policy.
3. Salary depends on a few things:
Salary = Basic + D.A. + Conveyance Allowance + Medical Allowance + Books & Periodicals + Education Allowance + Vehicle Maintenance. (And many more things) depend on the employee's grading, their work culture, i.e., marketing, sales, accounts, admin, etc.
4. In many cases, the basic part is very low because the basic salary includes PF calculation, which is why many organizations prefer the basic to be low and other allowances to be high to make CTC high.

I hope this information is very helpful for you.

Hi Dev,

It will be very helpful for basic ideas. However, Deepika has to work hard to learn it because the salary structure will vary from one company to another. Therefore, she should learn the salary structure from her seniors and follow it accordingly.

The most important thing is that if she makes a mistake, she will learn from it easily because an employee might come and ask, "Why is my salary less than before, Madam?" Haha, just joking, don't take it otherwise.

With regards,
Dev from Kolkata
