Understanding ESI, PF, and PT Deductions in Karnataka: Can You Clarify These Doubts?

Nayana Ashok kumar
Hi, this is Nayana Ashok Kumar. Please help me with ESI, PF, and PT in Karnataka.

ESI Slab:
Employee contribution is 1.75% on Gross.
Employer contribution is 4.75% on gross.
Up to 10,000/- salary, the employee is eligible for ESI. Above 10,000/-, how much do we have to deduct for their ESI?

PF:
Employee contribution is 12% on basic.
Employer contribution is 8.33% for Pension and 3.67% for PF. Is this correct?

PT:
Up to 9,999/- - Nil.
10,000/- to 14,999/- - 150.
Above 15,000/- - 200. Is this correct?

Please guide me with the above-mentioned doubts.

Hi Nayana,

Yes, it is correct. Some more information:

ESI is applicable only up to ₹10,000 Gross. If the gross is more than ₹10,000, then he is not eligible for ESI.

Regarding PF, you are right, but there are administrative charges of 1.61%:
- 1.1% = Acct. 2 (Admin Charges)
- 0.5% = Acct. 21 (EDLI Charges)
- 0.01% = Acct. 22 (Admin Charges)

PT:
This slab is only for Karnataka. If you are from Karnataka, this PT slab is also correct.
