How Can I Tell If a Candidate Has Real Architect Experience Over the Phone?

Hello seniors,

Please let me know a few questions that can be asked to an architect to determine if he has worked as an architect.

Kshitij,

What is the industry that this architect should be associated with or will be working in? Is it Real Estate (like architects related to the making of buildings, homes, etc.) OR IT (like database architects, etc.)? Are you trying to interview this person as an HR professional or a Line Manager?

Answer these, and let me see if I can help.

To assess an Architect, you should inquire about the following:

- Is he/she working as an independent consultant or within an organization?
- What is his qualification? (Minimum requirement: B.Arch)
- How much experience does he have?
- What past projects has he/she completed or undertaken, typically associated with buildings, etc.?
- What specific roles has he/she performed?
- How proficient is he/she in maintaining timelines and staying within budget?
- What are his areas of expertise, such as Interiors, Civil, Structural, Buildings, Multistory, Highways, Flyovers, etc.?
- What are his key strengths in Contract Management?

I hope this information is helpful.

Hello Seniors,

Thank you very much for the answers. The industry is IT, and the candidate would be a technical architect/Database architect. The initial assessment would be from my end as an HR.
