Is This Job Offer from Sheraton Skyline Hotel London Genuine or a Scam? Seeking Advice

I am Neema Hari from Trivandrum.

I received an offer from Sheraton Skyline Hotel London. I have been searching for an HR job abroad, and I received an email from Sheraton Skyline Hotel London offering several vacancies. They specified that if we are interested in a position like HR or HR-related roles, we should send them a standard resume.

Consequently, I forwarded my resume to them, and in return, they sent me an application form and a questionnaire that I need to fill out and send back (I have attached the email offer I received).

I kindly request you to visit the website address provided. Upon reviewing the site, I discovered that it does not seem to be a standard one. Therefore, I am confused about whether this is a legitimate offer or a fraudulent one.

Should I accept this offer? Should I proceed with it? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that we offer free accommodation and feeding, but all selected candidates will be responsible for their visa expenses. Management shall apply for the applicant's visa[s] on their behalf by sending all documents required for a two-year work visa processing to the British High Commission in his/her country for visa application. Follow instructions, reply to all messages, and send the required documents as soon as possible, as we have limited time for the recruitment.

I got the same offer from another hotel - Marriott Hotel. I checked with my brother-in-law (BIL) who works there. The individuals who sent the message are Nigerians/Kenyans and do not have direct contact with the hotel. Based on my conversation with my BIL, I can confirm that this is a fraudulent scheme. They will request you to transfer money to them and also ask for your bank details. Before you realize it, your account will be cleared out (the typical financial scam).

I strongly advise you not to fall into this trap. Instead, consider looking into HSMP or other alternatives. Additionally, now may not be the best time to consider the UK as an option due to the significantly increased costs for job seekers' processing (entry taxes have risen, and there is now an annual charge). It's better to engage directly with the company.

If you want to check this, do one thing: call the given numbers and ask for vacancies. If you have any, don't tell them you have an offer from their side. If they confirm having a vacancy, proceed. Ask for the person mentioned in the email (Jason Stoner). Check the hotel's website to get a phone number from there. Only cross-check; don't apply without verifying. Yes, I too received the same, and it is a 100% fake offer. So, please don't ever get involved in this.

It's really a big fraud. I am also among those who responded to this email. Please don't proceed with anything for this.

I have spent a whole week checking its legitimacy. I even received a signed and sealed appointment letter from Premier Hotel London asking me to join within one month. I informed the British High Commission, and they informed me that it's a hardcore international fraudster behind this scam. I have also received several calls from the individual demanding me to submit my documents and 25000 money as visa charges.

There are several visible discrepancies that make these offers fraudulent.

Basic spelling and grammatical mistakes in appointment letters:

Such companies will never give their landline telephone numbers for verification.

Generally, the recruitment and selection process is very rigorous with intensive interviews. Such companies offer a relatively huge amount of salary without even a single interview!

They offer free medical services and other perks that are already free on British soil for anyone!

In the address of their premises, they do not provide the proper PIN code. In Britain, these PINs are so effective and accurate that a post can be delivered by PIN only even without an address.

The biggest threat is that they ask you to send very detailed information filled in their form along with scanned copies of your certificates. They grossly misuse your very personal and sensitive information and are supposed to prepare fake certificates from your original ones.

Thank you, Jayesh. That was a really good piece of information on the website. I guess there has not been much awareness created even though it has been declared as fraud by the British High Commission themselves. These frauds, in fact, have made their database strong and have been covering a wide range of people.

Every morning when I open my mailbox, there are at least 2-3 hoax mails lying in my mailbox, one which says 'You've won a lottery' and two 'Job Offer in UK'. I have received queries from a number of people in my workplace if the offer they have received is authenticated or not. These frauds are not only sending across mailers but also sending SMS. Wonder what their database source is? How can it be stopped?

I have also received such mail for a manager position from abroad and also sent me the mail for an offer letter. However, when I confirmed, I found it to be fraudulent, and there is no such process for selection or recruitment.

You have sent me the same mail as Private Message. I am sure u would have sent the message to other members too.
I have given clear reply in this regard stating that the Offer is Hoax, for which you have also accepted & told that the issue is solved.
At the same time, i am surprised by the fact, u have posted the same in the forum.
When You have got the answer, why still Post in the Forum & extract the valuable time of other members.
Moreover as a learned person & being into HR Profession, I am sure you will be to ABLE to judge genuineness of the Offer given.
