Pursuing a Management Degree via Distance Learning: Which Institutes Do You Recommend?

gsrsumana
Hi all,

I have completed my master's in Human Resources Management from a local university, and I am interested in pursuing a management degree from a premier institute like XLRI, IIM, etc., through distance learning. Please suggest any institutes you know that offer such programs.

Thanks,
Sumana

Sumana,

XLRI provides an online distance education course. It's worth it if you want to do some distance course in HR, given the fact that it is from XL. Last I heard, it costs about 1.5L, and they typically conduct tests/interviews, etc., before they take candidates in this program. For more information on fees and eligibility, do check their website.

Dear Sumana,

If you are a doctor with an MBBS from one university, why would you seek to become a doctor again from another university? This question is amusing. Remember, until you value your education, others may not respect your qualifications. Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM) is not merely a certification for passing time.

Hi all,

The M.HRM course is a recognized program, and I have also completed my M.HRM degree from Annamalai University. This qualification is sufficient to secure roles within the HR department. The next recommended step would be to pursue an M.Phil or Ph.D. in Management.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I have completed my MHRM from Loyola-Pondicherry University. Could someone tell me what will be the basic pay for an HR fresher?

Instead of enrolling in a management course, you can pursue a Doctorate Ph.D. from the nearest university. I am suggesting this since you are interested in further studies. This will greatly satisfy your hunger for knowledge.

Dear Friends,

Education is the process where we learn to study and study to learn. It seems to me that you have already obtained a PG Degree in HRM, so why would you like to pursue another PG Degree once again? Update your knowledge by referring to books on HRM and keeping yourself alert in HRM. If you want, I can provide a list of the best books on HRM Practices and Indian Industrial Law.

On the other hand, XLRI and IIM's have their own outstanding performance in Business Studies at a global level.

You can go for NIIT Imperia course in HRM. They provide a 4-month distance learning program in HR with affiliations with IIM and XLRI. You can visit their website for further information.

Dear Sumana,

As you have completed your PG course, you can pursue certification in training. This can be obtained from ISTD - Indian Society for Training and Development. It will provide you with an opportunity to explore various areas in training and also work as a trainer.

Hi friends,

Thank you for your replies to the post. I have been taught by some scholars that education is a continuous process, and learning should never be stopped. My experiences in applying to some of the reputed organizations have shown that they prefer certificates from premier institutes only. Whenever a candidate from a local university within A.P is compared to them, they are often overlooked. I am a distinction holder from the university but still searching for a good job that can compensate me appropriately. I believe that by completing certification courses, I can enhance my value relative to others.

I am not devaluing my degree; instead, I aim to enhance its value through certifications. As we all know, certificates are often prized more than actual productivity and honesty in an employee.

Thank you all once again.
