Dear Ambika/Asha
I understand the Air conditioned environment is a posing a health problem to you. Having encountered a similar experience with my near ones, I would like to share my experience which may be useful to you.
The real cause for severity of asthma can not be A/C environment alone, there can be factors such as stress, dust and physical weekness etc., it differs from case to case.
You can also check it up with your physician on this.
In fact A/C environment ensures a dust free atmosphere which may be good to some asthmatic patients.
Meanwhile, the a/c has become common nowadays; you can not avoid it now. Instead try to find out methods to overcome it. You can talk to your management to ensure a comfortable working atmosphere. Because, in an ordinary tropical condition a room temperature between 22-25 will be ideal, where the moisture will be less and sweating will also be less.
You may be suffering due to a lower temperature set by your organization, because we, Indian have a general tendency that A/C should be less than 20 deg.
Besides, It is neither my intention to disagree with you nor I do possess any qualification of medical / biological science; I am just sharing an experience.
