How Do I Draft an Appointment Letter for Engineers Working at Client Sites? Need Help!

neetakamble
Hello,

I am working for an IT recruitment firm, and we have engineers who are on the payrolls of our company but are working at the client site as consultants. I desperately need your help in drafting an appointment letter for them. How should it be different from the letters of my in-house employees? What are the essential clauses? It would be great if anybody could help me with a format for the same.

Regards,
Neeta

Dear Neeta,

Just because your employee is working on the client location does not change anything. Your appointment letter will be the same as you give for everyone. The only change will be the location or work office address you mention. I don't see the need for a separate appointment letter. What you probably need is an anti-poaching clause with your customer.

In addition to Praveen's inputs, I would add that the employee should follow the work practices of the client in terms of office hours, holidays, weekly offs, etc., and that the organization (your) shall reserve the right to transfer the employee whenever required.
