Struggling with PF Withdrawal After Leaving a Job Without Notice – Any Advice?

I was working with a private bank previously. I served there for more than 1.5 years and left without serving the notice period due to personal reasons. Now I do not have any PF account number or establishment code. The bank HR is asking me to forget about my PF. The salary slip is showing my employee ID as my PF account number. Please note that I am now working with another firm with a new PF account, and the old employer will not consent to the withdrawal. Is there any way out? Please help.

Nobody can keep your PF account or withdraw it without your concern. It's your right and their prime duty. First, you should contact your previous organization and get your full and final settlement. As per your statement, you have not given any notice period; there may be some amount due to you, so pay them through a check or cash. After that, fill out Form 19 to withdraw your PF account or fill out Form 13 if you want to transfer it to your new PF account. I would suggest transferring it to your new account because the continuity of your membership will remain maintained.

As per PF statute, if you are unemployed, then only you can withdraw your PF money from the previous employer. But if you are serving another company, you have to get your previous PF accumulation transferred to your current PF account by submitting Form 13 through your present employer. The matter is very simple. Give your past employer's name, address, and your past PF number to your present employer and request them to transfer the money to your current PF account.
