Starting a Facility Service Company: What You Need to Know About EPF & ESI Registration

sajilasar
Dear All,

Could anybody please help me by providing information about new registration for EPF & ESI? We have 15 technicians working at various sites and want to establish a facility service company to provide engineering support to these sites. What documents are required for registration? How many days does it take to obtain the registration number? Is any shop or office space required?

Regards,
Saji

Dear Mr. Saji,

In case more than 20 workers are working in your workshop in a single day, you should apply for a PF number. As per the new amendment, if your workshop operates with the addition of power and more than 10 workers work in a single day, you should apply for an ESIC number. If ESIC applicability does not exist in your area, you should apply for a worker compensation policy.

Secondly, if your firm is involved in fabrication contracts in a factory, the conditions of the factory are deemed to be applicable to your firm. The above conditions will not apply.

Please refer to the attached procedure for obtaining PF and ESIC numbers.

Best Regards,
Anil Jangid
