Anish,

As per my knowledge,
Salary: which we fix for the month (that is for the Staff employees like supervisor and above).

Wages: which are paid on a daily basis or on a piece rate (that is for the contract labor and other laborers).

This is as per my knowledge.

Salary VS Wages

Salary:

1) Salary is paid to white-collar employees generally on a monthly basis.
2) Salary is remuneration for mental exertion.
3) Salary includes basic pay, dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), conveyance allowance, and other perks and benefits.

Wages:

1) Wages are paid either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
2) Wages are remuneration for physical exertion.
3) Wages are paid to blue-collar workers.
4) Wages necessarily include basic pay, dearness allowance (DA)/variable dearness allowance (VDA)/special allowance, and 5% house rent allowance (HRA) as per the Minimum House Rent Allowance Act.

I have corrected the spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors in your text. I have also ensured proper paragraph formatting with a single line break between the paragraphs. The meaning and tone of the message remain unchanged. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Hi Anish,

SALARY: means the amount received by office staff on a monthly basis.

WAGES: means remuneration received on a daily and hourly basis.

Thank you.

Hi,

A wage is based on hours worked. Employees who receive a wage are often called "non-exempt." A salary is an amount paid for a particular job, regardless of hours worked, and these employees are called "exempt."

The difference between the two is carefully defined by the type of position and the kinds of tasks that employees perform. In general, exempt employees include executives, administrative and professional employees, and others. These groups are not covered by minimum wage provisions. Non-exempt employees are covered by minimum wage as well as other provisions.

Wages are meant for workers at the operational level, while salary is meant for corporate and functional levels (top and middle levels).

Thank you.

Hi,

Salary is a fixed periodical payment paid to a person for regular work or services, whereas a wage is usually paid by the day or week for work or services which are of a more irregular nature.

Naresh has hit the nail on its head. His definition is very apt and succinct.

Actually, there is no difference. Salary implies white-collar employees, whereas wages are attributed to the workers or the blue-collar employees.

Cheers!!!

Dear,

[Wages] - Payment made to compensate labor for the work done is generally termed as wages.

[Salary] - Money paid periodically to persons whose output cannot easily be measured, such as clerical staff, supervisory, and managerial staff, is termed as salary.
