Does the Professional Tax has changed for the financial year 2009-2010. If So, Please let me know the details.

PT varies from state to state. Please be clear for which state you are looking. For karnataka it is been changed. I believe you are from Tamil Nadu. I hv no much idea abt that.

For karnataka the professional tax slabs are as below.
0 - 9999 no tax
10000 - 14999 150
15000 and above 200
More over I am attaching the excel format of FORM 5A. U just enter the number of employees of particular category and the cheque details so you will get the filled form of FORM 5A

Yes. The pt rates has been revised. The highest slab
is now rs.1095/- for six months instead of rs.810

Rs.20,001/- to Rs.30,000/---- Rs.101/-
Rs.30,001/- to Rs.45,000/---- Rs.254/-
Rs.40,001/- to Rs.60,000/---- Rs.507/-
Rs.60,001/- to Rs.75,000/---- Rs.761/-
Rs.75,001/- & above ------ Rs.1014/-

30001-45000 - 235
45001-60000 - 510
60001-75000 - 760
75000 above - 1095

Yes it has changed from April 2009,
PT for KA is 150 for 10000 - 14999 Gross Salary and 200 for 15000+ Gross
Salary
Below 10000 is expempted
