Salary Slip vs. Salary Statement: What's the Difference and Why It Matters?

Naveenkumarr
Hi everybody,

Please let me know the difference between a salary slip and a salary statement, as I have recently attended an interview where they asked me to prepare the salary statement. But I got confused.

Please help me with this. Thank you all! 😊

Hi Naveen,

A payslip is given to each employee in the organization. For each payslip, every company maintains its own standards.

A salary statement is a summary of the salary details managed by the concerned person. The salary statement will include every employee's salary details on a single sheet.

I believe I am right. Any comments are welcome.

Cheers,

Hi NAVEEN,

This is wrong, which suggestion given by Jeeva. Salary slip means this has to be issued (Form no. IV) to all the employees according to the wage act.

Salary register means this is very important to maintain according to the wage act (Form no. VI). For more details, please read or refer to the 1) minimum wage act or 2) Wage act (central).

Hi Folks,

I have attached the salary statement that I prepared last month; I need some clarifications regarding the basic pay. Is there any format or formula to calculate the basic pay, professional tax, TDS, etc.? I need to know how to structure the salary CTC. I have attached an Excel sheet with 3 different sheets of statements. Kindly help me out.
